If Love Songs Were Written Like Worship Songs

Forever I Am Dating You

Verse 1

I was single

And you started dating me

Sad and alone

You washed over me

You date me

Forever

Out of being sad

Forever

And now I’ll spend my days

Looking at your face

Because I’m no longer single

Forever

Verse 2

When I get sad

You are always happy

When I am scared

You are always brave

And when I get single

You will date me still

Repeat Chorus

Bridge: You are so pretty (30x)

Repeat Chorus 5x

  1. The bridge is actually kinda catchy. I’d like that repeated to me 30x. Ha ha.

  2. Do you mind if I work up a few tunes to go with these lyrics?

Yes. This is so incredibly accurate. I have always wondered why people can write great songs about their love lives and only come up with five lines about God. That seems a bit backward to me.

  5. That’s why I be loving the old, old, deep, theologically correct hymns. The real hit songs, like Aquinas and whatnot.

  6. I was telling my daughter about this post after we listened to the worst worship song ever this morning in church. Why are some of those songs so terrrrrrrrrible?! And the worship leader loves them.

This is one of the best things.

    ‘Pretty (Girls echo)

    Friendly (Girls echo)

    Talented (Girls echo)

    Smart (Girls echo)

    (Repeat 30x)’
