I gave up childhood aspirations of being a marine biologist to write instead, and the fact that you’re reading this helps me know I made the right decision.
I’m Tyler. I’m really something. I’ve known that ever since I won third place in the AWANA Grand Prix while being homeschooled in Nebraska. I got my degree in Communications Studies at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. My education is an unfailing source of amusement for all. I ran a sort of homeless shelter in Chicago. I taught literature to high school students. Me and my friends made a TV show called Footnote for a little while. I’ve been to several different countries. I’ve read many books (7.) I’ve never fired a gun but nobody’s perfect.
Currently, I’m the senior editor for RELEVANT Magazine.

/ February 24, 2012Tonight while Googling to find how best to assist my 6 y/o daughter make her Indy car for the AWANA Grand Prix held at her AWANA location, the Moody Bible Church I came across this link. Third place is pretty impressive. Thought I would throw this out there to see if you might respond with any hints, tips or words of wisdom to assist us with our first AWANA Grand Prix. I was going over all the “RULES” and found that I have no idea what all this is about. Sounds more complicated than I originally thought. Well, if you have a minute we would appreciate your response. Either way it was cool stumbling upon your page. Thank you from a Single Mom of one Great Girl!

/ December 10, 2013I made my way here after noticing that many of my favorite Relevant articles were, coincidentally, by you. I, and I’m sure many others, enjoy what you have to say. Rep those millennials; we like attention.

/ July 11, 2016Tyler, Last night I had the privlege of speaking to several hunderd people at a Rally for Unity and Peace here in Tuscaloosa, Al. where I am a UM pastor. I opened with your story of calling 911 and being told “All Houses Matter.” Afterwards several blacks thanks me for “getting it” and several whites thanked me for giving them a new perspective. I thank you for your article. It helped me greatly. (BTW, I gave you credit for the illustration.) John Kearns

/ July 13, 2016Hi Tyler –
I used your very valuable column about “Black Lives Matter” in an e-mail I sent to a large number of my on-line friends, many of whom, like me, are bigoted and should be challenged to overcome their bigotry. I would like to share that e-mail with you, if you will permit me, because it was your blog-post that inspired me to send it. Please send me an e-mail so that I can forward to you a copy of the e-mail I sent to my cyber-friends.
Thanks, and keep up the excellent work!
